I was born
on 25th February 1952 in Takoradi in the
Western Region of Ghana. I finished my elementary
Education in 1967 and proceeded to Secondary School
(high school and college) in 1967. I finished my “A” Levels
in 1974 and was the school prefect of the overseeing
about one thousand students. I then took some courses in
the Civil Service Training Center and worked in the
Civil Service, Ghana as a Senior Executive Officer. I
had my Born Again (new birth) experience on 2nd
January 1971 and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in 1972.
In 1972 I
had the call of God upon my life while working as a
Civil Servant, I was recognized by the Assemblies of God
in the Western Region of Ghana. While I hesitated to
enter into full-time Ministry I had an angelic visitation
and the angel of God opened the Bible to Corinthians
9:16 and read the passage to me audibly. “For though I
preach to gospel, I have nothing to glory of for
necessity is la me, yea, woe is unto me if I preach not
the gospel.” It was after this supernatural phenomenon
that I decided for a full-time ministry. I attended my
first Bible School, Pan African School of Ministry
organized by Dr. Morris Cerullo in 1978 in Nairobi,
Kenya in East Africa. From 1978-1980 I was offered three
scholarships to attend Christ for the Nations, in the
U.S.A. organized by Rev. Gordon Linsey. It was not
possible for me to travel to the United States at that
time so instead, I took advantage of a sister School in Binin City,
Nigeria, organized by the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa.
I had my Associate Degree in Theology from All Nations
For Christ Bible Institute from 1982-1984. After school
I worked in the ministry of Church of God Mission in
Nigeria as a missionary for four years.
In 1982, I
started my Ministry in Ghana, Fountain of Life Mission.
We have over twenty branches of the church in Ghana with
a membership of almost three thousand. I am the Bishop
and General Overseer of Fountain of Life Mission and the
President of your School, Shalom Bible Training
Institute. I have had some Bible Training also with
Malachi Institute (U.S.A.)
I am a
Conference Speaker and Bible Teacher and run Special
Fellowships in U.S.A., where I have visited for more
than ten years. I am presently the National Coordinator
for K-NET (Ghana) and Interim Africa Coordinator for
K-NET. I am married to Apostle (Mrs.) Elizabeth Normanyo
and have one son by name Godwin Normanyo (Jnr) who is 19
years old.
Bishop
Godwin Normanyo is also the President of Helps and Care
Foundation, a personal trust he runs that assists need
Pastors and selected orphans. |
